Turmeric contains curcumin, which is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory, but also has antibacterial and antiviral properties which can help that lazy immune system fight the cold. (Plus turmeric is such a lovely sunny color that always puts a smile on my face!) Ginger is an anti-inflammatory as well, but also has the added benefit of stimulating mucus production so you don’t get those never ending hacking coughs. We all know those aren’t fun! The final ingredient in this healing concoction is raw honey, which is my favorite go-to when I’m not feeling well.
