We all should get at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. But not everyone can visit the gym every day for a myriad of reasons. If your busy lifestyle or your workplace routine (or anything for that matter) is keeping you from visiting the gym regularly, there are other ways to get your daily dose of exercise.
Here are five fun ways to keep you energized even if you can’t make it to the gym.
Take the stairs
Skip the elevator and take stairs instead. To increase intensity, boost your heart rate and to work your lungs, take two steps at a time. Take a break from your work at regular intervals and go out for a short walk. It will refresh your brain and increase your concentration levels.
Stand up every time your phone rings
Stand up every time someone gives you a call on your phone. Stretch your legs and tighten your stomach muscles. This will not only give you a quick workout opportunity, but will also make you appear more confident and assertive too.
Play with your kids
Spend an hour or two playing with your kids. You can run around after your little ones, explore in the garden, or play hide and seek.
Dance to your favorite song
Dance is a good exercise to have fun and stay fit at the same time. Play the radio or your favorite song and dance around kitchen. Dancing is a quick way to burn off some energy without feeling like you are exercising.
Get intimate
Sex is a best exercise and has tremendous health benefits. It not only bolsters feelings of love and being needed, but it also helps lower blood pressure, works your heart in more than one way, decreases stress and improves your immune system.
Gardening
A study at the Kansas State University observed that gardening boosts self-esteem and strengthens your hands. A little time spent gardening will certainly get you sweating. Small things like bending over to weed combined with fresh air and sunshine will do wonders for your mental health and overall well being.
