Ho Ho Ho! It’s that time of year, and this holiday season will certainly be different than anything we’ve ever experienced. Instead of socializing and gathering with family and friends at parties and feasting around the table, this year, we‘ll be celebrating by gathering around the computer and Zooming for hours on end while remaining safe in our COVID bubbles.

Here are three fun and easy ways to bring in a bit of fun and cheer to your holiday Zoom room parties.

For the best experience, please update to the latest version of Zoom to make sure you have all of these options available. The first two tips highlight what you can do within your Zoom settings for holiday fun.

Virtual Video Filters

On the bottom left of your Zoom screen, click on the up-carrot next to the Stop Video icon, then click on Choose Video Filter. Directly under your photo or live video, click on the option for Video Filters. Add a hat, animal face, reindeer horns, or happy face border. There are more than 50 options. Click around and try several out. Have fun and play with the options.

Lighten Up Your Zoom Room

On the bottom left of your Zoom screen, click on the up-carrot next to the Stop Video icon, then click on Video Settings. Click the box that says, “Adjust for low light.” You can then select the manual setting and move the slider to lighten up everything in your Zoom box for a crisp winter feel.

Stage Your Zoom Room

Arrange some green plants, red flowers and some holiday bling in front of your computer screen. It might take a bit of extra effort to stage your holiday Zoom room, but in the end, it will help spread holiday cheer and brighten up your holiday season festivities.
